Become a Strategic Partner: Establish Your Business Drivers and STEP & SWOT Analyses

 When:  Thursday, March 18, 2010; 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

As a workplace learning professional, you need a basic understanding of the way business functions in your company, the way funding and resources are determined and the strategic strengths and weaknesses of the business.  You need to communicate learning initiatives and interventions in your organization to give credibility as a strategic business partner.

 To become a strategic partner you need to:

o       Become educated in strategic planning

o       Educate others in the strategic planning process

o       Provide services that support your company’s business strategy

o       Improve visibility of the learning’s function’s activities and accomplishments

o       Measure results

Part of this strategic planning involves a STEP and SWOT analysis.  Come to the March 18^th meeting to learn how you can become a strategic partner within your company.

Speaker:  Lou Grice, Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Phoenix Contact, Inc. BS in Petroleum Engineering U of CA Berkeley; MBA from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland.

In his current role as VP of Marketing & Communications, Lou leads the development of marketing and communications strategy for Phoenix Contact USA. Recently he's collaborated with transnational teams from China and Germany on global brand and web-marketing strategies.
